Happy Friday!! We’re creeping up to what would normally be the first holiday weekend of summer activities, like camping, neighborhood barbecues, picnics, beach outings, and all those fun things we do with friends and family. It’s not going to be happening this year, or at least shouldn’t be yet. I was looking at some data last night and saw a very disturbing graph that illustrates what I predict will be a big problem for all of us in the near future. Take a look at this graph.

This graph shows me distinct differences in the cumulative cases of the coronavirus in a comparison of the United States and other major countries. They have all flattened and reached a peak, but as you can see, the U.S. just keeps climbing. Whatever data our leaders are using to make reopening decisions, I do not know. I realize that we can’t shut the economy down forever, but this short sighted decision is going to lead to further economic and human disaster, in my opinion. The number of infectious cases is continuing to climb, leading to an increase in deaths (human disaster), and as that death count travels across America, a sane person isn’t going to be rushing to the shopping mall, bar, restaurant, gym, or beauty salon, resulting in a Round 2 hit to the economy (economic disaster). And what will that lead to? An economic depression as people save every penny they can, not knowing when this thing will ever end. Although the “stable genius” says he is not going to shut the country down again, my prediction is that it’s going to happen on it’s own. And that, comrades, is going to be the prolonging of this sad period in America.

Okay, I’m on a FedEx rant again. Second time this week I was supposed to get a wine delivery, but the package was not delivered. I received a message from FedEx yesterday informing me that I had a package being delivered on that day. No delivery. Received another email today informing me I had that delivery coming today. At 2:27 pm I had an email that they attempted to deliver at 2:14 pm, but couldn’t because no one was there to receive. That is an out and out lie. I was sitting in my living room at that time and have an unobstructed view of my door. I have learned that at least three other community members have had issues similar to mine this week. I tried to resolve this issue at the Troutdale facility, but to no avail, so I submitted a complaint form to FedEx corporate. When I was still working and would attend the annual law conference in Eugene, one session that I attended was titled “Cowboy Law: (I don’t remember the subtitle), but over the years it turned out I had several legal cases with the attorney who presented at that session and learned lot’s of good strategies. FedEx has just f****d with the wrong retiree with too much time on his hands. Yippee ki-yay!! This cowboy’s coming for ya’ FedEx.

Hope y’all have a great Memorial Day Holiday, but don’t forget the meaning of this day as we honor those who died serving in the Armed Forces of our country. Ramble at ya later. Ziggyman
